Unexpected Moments

Unexpected Moments

Sometimes life gives me an opportunity to smile in the most unexpected moments. And when it does I pause and give thanks.

Its that unexplainable humbling and blessed feeling from a random encounter, a simple conversation or a surreal moment. While it sets my heart in motion and makes me lost in space, for the most part, I hate the feeling. The longer it is the more I want to cry and throw up. Because I know whatever it is, it won’t be reciprocated. I’m a firm believer of less expectations less disappointments. It’s better to build a wall and guard your heart from the pain rather than having it tore you apart. But when the right time comes, open it and you’ll experience the most magical feeling.

If it were not to happen again, one thing is for sure, it changed me. It made me appreciate life more, knowing that these things can happen, even by surprise. In the meantime, I would continue to walk by faith and trust in the higher power that one day it will be my turn to have a happily ever after.

to look back on what was lost

Rarely can I find such beautiful words written in heartbreaking letter.

C,

I know my words will likely fall on deaf ears, but if it’s the choice between wishing on a star and doing nothing, I’d take the star every time and hope that you might find my letter here and read it with an open heart. Most days in life are as forgettable as the next – things don’t change, people follow the same patterns and do the same things. It’s a rare day that goes to shape a person, the simply great moments and the truly horrible ones, that will last forever burnt into someone’s mind. It’s in these moments that we find who we truly are, and set ourselves on a course to be who we want to be.

You told me that when we met, you had never felt for someone what you felt for me. While I never told you, I felt the same incredible spark, that glowing feeling where everything around you is brighter, newer and in all ways better than before. You set me free, took me on adventure after adventure and showed me a side of life I had never imagined, and in return I showed you the same. We loved a love that has been written about to the point that every word about it is cliché. And that’s okay, because it’s the simplest and most powerful joy in human life. Never before has someone inspired me the way you did.

I do not blame you for walking away, far from it. The days that I would spend with you playfully became less common, the talks of dreams and seeing the world sparser, the basic act of listening which I did not fully comprehend yet was lacking, and in the end I failed to see the simple things you needed.

If there is one saving grace though for heartbreak and time alone, it’s that when the storm clears, we have the ability to look back on what was lost, to see mistakes made, and choose to better ourselves for it. I kept a wall up, and I have only myself to blame for that, but in this moment of letting my secrets go, my feelings for you are as simple as this – every day we spent together was the best day of my life. I know now that the love you gave to me – not the heart-skipping, pulse pounding excitement that I first had with you, but your desire to be with me that kept my heart aflame – was in all ways perfect. I know I’ve said you were perfect before, but I’m not sure I ever really explained that this is how I meant it. If I still had you with me today, not a single moment would pass that I wouldn’t make you feel the same.

I know I can’t make you choose to open your heart up to me again. But if I could now, I would make you feel that perfect love that you gave me. I would run wild with those clichés - I would be outside you office with flowers every day, I would take you on all those trips we planned, I would get lost with you in adventure, I would drive off into the sunset with you with no real direction and only the desire to spend time with you, to be with you, to make you smile that way that lights up the night. I know I won’t always be perfect, and I know I won’t always be new and fascinating, but given the chance I’d grab your hand and take you on the most incredible journey of a lifetime. If there’s one thing I wish you take from this note, in hopes that you find true happiness, it’s that you discover what those who have come before us and found happily ever after know - that the butterflies aren’t what define love, but are what lead you to it. Until then I’ll be waiting with butterflies.

Love,
P

Happy Monday + Weekend Rundown

Happy Monday my loves!

Like the usual, we're all back to work but all is well especially if you had a good weekend. I know I have. Here's a rundown.
  • I accidentally bummed into a college friend whom I haven't seen in almost 3 years.
  • Watched a horrifying movie but nonetheless I enjoy the good company of friends
  • Found a great bargain for my beauty essentials; mascara, makeup remover, hair mousse and shampoo.
  • Had a lovely Thai food and mango sago dessert for Saturday's lunch.
  • Cooked pancake with strawberry jam for Sunday's brunch.

Cheers

{Inspiration} Wait

“ Wait for the person who pursues you, the one who will make an ordinary moment seem magical, the kind of person who brings out the best in you and makes you want to be a better person; wait for the person who will be your best friend, the only person who will drop everything to be with you at any time no matter what the circumstances, for the person who makes you smile like no one else and when they smile you know they need you.

Wait for the person who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats and a tee shirt, but appreciates it when you get dressed up for them. And most of all, wait for the person who will put you up at the center of their universe, because that’s where you belong. “

Waiting For The Holidays

Waiting For The Holidays

Holidays is fast approaching. In fact, I've started hunting for Christmas gifts to give my family. I think that's the fun part aside from actually celebrating it. If you're like me, I'm pretty sure you've also started looking for that perfect holiday dress. The colour palette of this outfit gives me a major inspiration; green, reds and golds. It doesn't scream more holiday than that.

{Beauty} Olive Oil Scrub

Most of us tend to be afraid of oil base scrubs, but you shouldn't. This one leaves your skin feeling soft, moisturized, and clean. You can use this on your face, but it is best to avoid doing so in the winter. A gentler exfoliant would do just fine. If you do use this scrub on your face, rub very carefully and avoid delicate dry spots, as it can be too harsh on sensitive winter skin. Follow with a thick moisturizer.

{Work Wear} Simple Yet Classy

Happy Monday beauties!
I have a full day today; a series of meeting and project deadlines. But sometimes weekend gets into my skin that I don't feel like dressing up too much. I'm sure you ladies have this moments as well. But you don't have to compromise what you feel like wearing just because you need to look serious for that big meeting. Take it from me. Sometimes all you need to do is dig into your wardrobe and look for simple yet classy pieces that still screams "I'm professional". You won't go wrong with it. But if you really really have to look all business-like, just throw in a well-tailored jacket and you're ready to go. Just take it off when it's done.

Cheers!

Behind The Seams: The Row

Behind The Seams: The Row

I've always been a fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Their style evolves from what seems to be a boho chic into a more street savvy, easy and worn out look. We've all seen it and some would even think they need to pull it together. But with their line The Row, it shows a complete opposite of that. It represents an extension of their personality; a more polished and feminine look that caters well with their audience. To know more about it, watch this video.

{Work Wear} Tie Me Up In Knots

I like how scarfs can be so versatile. You can either use it as a neck piece or a headband and it can totally change your look. I personally like to use it as a neck piece. It just gives that touch of chicness into a plain jane outfit.
